It can connect directly to computer via USBC or can hold a 1GB-128GB TF memory card, and it has a rechargeable battery.

While new to Aussie shores, the device has already proven to be a sellout in the US, selling out stock faster than they can get it in, so Amazon Australia predicts that it will hit here, too.

Billed to be “the ultimate lo-fi futurist accessory, reimagining the dawn of the digital age for today’s trendsetters”, shoppers love that the camera can recapture the raw, exhilarating spirit of early digital capture.

Amazon Australia has already shifted more than 100 mini Kodak Charmera cameras this month, and the buy has an impressive 4.5 star rating from reviewers who have tried it.

“Absolutely love these. If you want perfect pictures, this isn’t for you. If you want to capture memories in a fun nostalgic way, get this. It is so so fun. And it is adorable and easily portable on a bag,” writes one happy shopper.

“I’m only writing this review because I got the model I wanted, and it looks even better in person! It works great, has a built-in flash, and the image quality is delightfully mediocre,” another adds.

“I’m a big Kodak fan, so I couldn’t resist it. The footage has a nostalgic VHS-style look that makes every trip feel like a little documentary. It’s a really fun camera to bring along if you’re after that retro aesthetic.

A third adds: “Any review complaining about the quality of the Kodak Chamera baffles me. It was never meant to be a high-quality camera. The photos are low resolution, the audio isn’t great, and overall it’s comparable to an old phone.

“But that’s exactly the appeal. It’s designed to capture that nostalgic, imperfect look, and it does that really well. The different designs also make it more exciting to unbox and add a bit of personality.
