A man has been charged with murder after a woman died at a home in Melbourne’s southeast.

The 29-year-old woman was found with critical injuries at a house on Generation Dr in Clyde North about 6.30pm on Sunday. 

She was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died.

A 32-year-old Clyde North man, believed to be known to the woman, was arrested at the home.

He has since been charged with one count of murder and was scheduled to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Neighbours told 7NEWS they did not hear anything unusual on Sunday night, but were left shocked by the incident.

“(It’s a) pretty quiet neighborhood. Everyone keeps it to themselves,” one neighbour said.

“Just awful and shocking to think about. Yeah, I’m just in shock, I’m still processing.”
