A daycare operator has been charged after allegedly running a fraudulent facility in Sydney’s southwest.

The 33-year-old woman allegedly committed $400,000 worth of fraud at the daycare centre in Denham Court.

The daycare centre was open for business between November 2023 and April 2024, NSW Police said.

The woman is accused of accepting additional children into care at the service, which she allegedly operated without the required legal registration or approvals.

She is also accused of failing to pay rent on the property, falsifying documents relating to real estate matters, and fraudulent dealings with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and Services Australia (Centrelink).

The woman was placed under arrest at Parramatta Police Station on Wednesday.

She was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday, where she faces nealry 20 fraud-related charges.
