The war between the Brisbane Broncos and club great Gorden Tallis has just become personal.

The Broncos — reportedly fed up with Tallis’s criticisms in the media — have erased his name from the conference room in their $27 million headquarters, and replaced it with NRLW champion Ali Brigginshaw’s.

Tallis was a superstar for the club and is a former captain.

After leaving the Dragons, he played in three premierships across 160 games throughout a glittering career in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The 52-year-old is now a hard-hitting commentator on Triple M and Fox Sports, taking his famous Raging Bull nickname into the media.

But it’s all become too much for the Broncos in what has turned into a sad and bitter fallout.

“Brisbane Broncos recognise the positive contributions and ongoing support of a number of club legends by way of naming various meeting rooms within the Clive Berghofer Centre,” CEO Dave Donaghy said in an email to club staff on Friday.

“The naming of the Ali Brigginshaw meeting room recognises her outstanding contribution to the Broncos club since the inception of the NRLW program, including leading the club to four NRLW premierships.”

News Corp suggested that some staff were so fed up with Tallis’s commentary that they had decided to abandon his room.

It is also perceived that Tallis has been extra harsh on the Broncos after they sacked his premiership teammate Kevin Walters at the end of 2024.

There is also some suggestion that Tallis’s link to the Gold Coast Titans (he is a shareholder) has contributed to the divorce.

Brigginshaw, 36, has been with the Broncos women’s team since its inaugural year in 2018.

The captain has played 55 games, including a whopping four NRLW premierships.

The Broncos are the reigning NRLW premiers.
