A man has been charged with murder after another man was found dead on a gravel track in a coastal suburb north of Perth.

Homicide detectives began investigating after a man was found unresponsive on a gravel track in bushland near Grampians Loop in Yanchep on Sunday.

The 27-year-old was declared dead at the scene.

Three days later, police have charged a 30-year-old man with one count of murder.

He will face Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.

A second person is also assisting police with their inquiries. No arrests or charges have been made in relation to this person.

“WA Police wish to thank the community for their assistance with this investigation,” police said in a statement.
