A teenage boy has been airlifted to hospital after falling several metres from a cliff in Sydney’s east.

NSW Police, Fire and Rescue, five NSW Ambulance crews and the Toll NSW Ambulance Rescue Helicopter responded to the scene at the Queenscliff Headland on Friday afternoon.

They found a 16-year-old boy, who had been scaling the cliff face with a friend when he lost his footing.

Emergency services said he had fallen between five to eight metres, landing heavily on the rock platform.

The teen hit his head while falling, and paramedics treated a laceration while assessing other minor injuries.

He was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
