Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are warned the following article contains names and images of the deceased.
Police say it may take several days to confirm the identity of a body believed to be that of triple murderer Julian Ingram.
The body was discovered next to a white Ford Ranger ute by national park workers at the Round Hill Nature Reserve, about 50km north-west of Lake Cargelligo in NSW’s central west, on Monday.

Ingram, 37, disappeared from the remote country town in January after shooting and killing three people including his pregnant former partner Sophie Quinn, her friend John Harris and her aunt Nerida Quinn.
A fourth person, Kaleb Macqueen, survived the shooting but was seriously injured.
Assistant police commissioner Andrew Holland said the body had been at the location for an “extended period of time”, and was in a extensive state of decomposition, however, a driver’s licence, the make of the car and the clothes worn by the deceased person left police confident the body belonged to Ingram.
On Tuesday, Holland said the body had been removed and was awaiting a post mortem in Newcastle this Friday, with formal confirmation on the identity of the body still expected to take several days.

Forensic investigators from Orange will also begin an examination of the car and two guns, including a shot gun, that were found next to the body.
Holland said police believe the deceased person had died from self inflicted gunshot wounds.

Assistant police commissioner Andrew Holland said it may take some time for the body to be formally identified. Credit: 7NEWSPolice were first called to Lake Cargelligo about 4.30pm on January 22 to reports two people — 25-year-old Sophie Quinn and 32-year-old John Harris — were found shot in a car in Bokhara St.
Officers were then called to Walker St after 50-year-old Nerida Quinn and 19-year-old Kaleb Macqueen were found suffering gunshot wounds.
The search for Ingram lasted several months and focused around several areas including the Nombinnie Nature Reserve, with police still believing someone may have been helping him avoid capture as recently as March.
“Police had conducted searches of about 60,000 square acres,” Holland said.
“(The body was found) in an area between two major search areas, that had not been searched.”
Holland said he hoped the discovery of the body would help the town find a sense of closure.
“We’re working with the community and council to help local people understand that this matter is now closed, and hopefully we can get back to some normality,” he said.
